Two weeks ago the whole team gathered for a chill weekend in Strasbourg, France, to celebrate my friend Sarah’s 25th birthday. We rented a AirBnb for 2 nights and spent our Saturday in Europapark – a German amusement park, one of the biggest in Europe, if you didn’t know. Strasbourg is such a lovely city, we also got to visit the historic city centre during the weekend, it was just lovely.
Then on Sunday, came the time for birthday celebration and we all gathered for brunch at Bistrot & Chocolat, one of most famous Strasbourg hotspot for brunch.
The place
Bistrot & Chocolat is definitely the brunch hotspot in Strasbourg. We arrived quite early – around 11, which is pretty early for brunch! The restaurant was packed and so were the front tables outside but the waiter was kind enough to make extra space and set a table for the 15 of us. The place is very retro and hip, just like a bistrot! The atmosphere is very warm and friendly.
The menu
Unlike many brunch places these days, Bistrot & Chocolat brunch is not a buffet brunch. Instead, you get to pick the composition of your planche according to your taste and hunger!
There is the vegan menu (or miam!), the sweet menu, the salty menu, and then you can have both, with quantity depending on the adventurous side of your stomach: serious, full or maxi full!
The food
The brunch was clearly worth the wait. I chose the Full Miam menu, and here is what I was served.
Among others: mushroom and tomato crumble, homemade humous, beetroot cream, scrambled eggs, salty cake, fruit salad, hazelnut brownie, muesli and yoghurt, fresh salad.
The meal is quite complete on the beverage side as well: I got a bio mango juice and a cup of green tea.
I highly recommend this place, either with friends or with your significant other. It’s the perfect start to your Sunday. Then, you’re full and ready for a stroll in the Petite France. Enjoy!
